Representative Claudia J. Griffith

September 2, 1950 - July 14, 2018

We are stunned and heartbroken by the news of Representative Claudia Griffith’s sudden passing on Saturday. Claudia spent her life in service to her community and especially to the underprivileged and most vulnerable among us. Hers was a true servant's heart. From her service as nurse, to Executive Director of Health for Friends, to volunteering as a first responder in the aftermath of the OKC Bombing, Claudia was among those whom Mr. Rogers described when he said: "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers — so many caring people in this world.”

This is most certainly true. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Jim, her children and grandchild, her brothers and sister, and all those in her large, loving circle of family and friends who mourn her loss. Claudia leaves behind a legacy of love, caring, and compassion.  We dedicate ourselves to honoring her life of service and carrying on her work.

A public Celebration of Life was held on Friday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives Chambers, 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City.  Claudia's full obituary and suggested memorials can be found at at the Tribute Care web site by clicking this link.
